Scott Averill

Dr. Scott Averill earned his veterinary degree from Michigan State University in 1994, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He completed his internship at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Akron, Ohio. He completed his surgical residency and earned a Master of Science degree at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1998. In 1999, Dr. Averill became board-certified in veterinary surgery.

In 1998, Dr. Averill began practicing at Animal Emergency and Referral Center in the north shore of Chicago, where he practiced for 20 years as the head of surgery. Dr. Averill spent several years as the intern director responsible for training veterinary graduates and also served as the Medical Director. Dr. Averill then joined a practice in the Chicago area, where he practiced until joining Premiere Veterinary Group. 

Dr. Averill enjoys all aspects of veterinary surgery with a special interest in fracture repair, knee repair, and oncologic surgery. He strives to make your surgical experience seamless and as stress-free as possible. He understands and values the emotional bonds we make with our four-legged family members.

Outside of work Dr. Averill enjoys spending time with his wife Jamie, exercise, and any outdoor activity. Their pets include two French Bulldogs named Marsellus and Walter.  And three cats named Lucille, Floyd, and Frankie.
