Caylen Erger

Dr. Erger earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Missouri and completed both an internship and residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine at Michigan State University. Originally from the St. Louis area, Dr. Erger first came to Chicago for college and is excited to be back in the city she considers a second home. 

Dr. Erger's clinical interests include gastroenterology, endocrinology, urology, and advanced endoscopic procedures. She is particularly passionate about applying evidence-based medicine to the diagnosis and management of complex medical conditions, integrating the latest veterinary research with clinical expertise to provide thoughtful, individualized care. One of the most rewarding aspects of her work is building lasting relationships with pet owners and referring veterinarians. Dr. Erger values the trust that develops through collaboration and communication, and she enjoys partnering with families and veterinary colleagues throughout a patient's diagnostic and treatment journey. By combining clinical experience with the best available scientific evidence, she strives to develop practical, compassionate treatment plans that achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients. 

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Erger enjoys practicing yoga, caring for her collection of houseplants, and spending time with her Australian Cattle Dog, Hyde.
